Job Description
The New York Energy $martSM Communities Program creates networks of organizations and agencies that contribute to energy-focused neighborhood projects, and provides information and support to individuals and businesses interested in energy efficiency and alternative fuels. Energy $mart Communities encourages decision-makers and community members to adopt energy efficiency as a means of economic and community growth. The Energy $mart Communities Coordinator is charged with recruiting mid-stream partners, referring projects to NYSERDA programs, coordinating local resources for energy efficiency projects, and for organizing technical seminars or training events on topics relevant to the Manhattan and Staten Island region.
As an Energy $mart Communities Program Assistant, you will assist the E$C Coordinator with program development. Tasks may include, but are not limited to:
- Populate and maintain spreadsheet analyses detailing energy efficiency incentives for Con Ed, National Grid, and NYSERDA, as well as tax credits at the Federal, State, and City level
- Write energy articles for publication in various media outlets
- Assist in planning events related to energy efficiency, including panel sessions, conferences, workshops, and networking events
- Increase program visibility by attending meetings or tabling events
- Administrative tasks include newsletter maintenance, designing power points, research, and other program administration

Job Requirements
The applicant should have a working knowledge of energy efficiency and sustainability. Knowledge of buildings is a plus. The applicant should be able to work with little supervision, be able to interact with professionals and the public, have excellent management skills, strong communications skills, excellent writing skills, intermediate to advanced knowledge working with power point.
